There Are Serious Issues And Consequences With A Genetically Modified Food Supply

There are many serious issues that plague Genetically Modified (GM or GMO) foods. The world's top scientists have risked their livelihood to come out and warn us about the dangers of GM foods and how bad they are for our health as well as the environment. Unfortunately, big agriculture companies in alignment with governments are doing whatever they can to hide and ignore the dangers so that they can line their pockets with huge profits. Of course they would rather have you believe that they are doing their part to save the world from starvation. But little do they know that they are leading the world's food supply into a very dark and dangerous place. And when it gets to that point, when they realize what they did was wrong, it will be too late for anyone to do anything about it. It will be irreversible!

There are several various different styles and varieties of places of dining. Fruity Sweets and Family Treats

A selection of dessertsImage via Wikipedia
By Juvy S. Iliwiliw

Before sharing with you 12 fruity dessert recipes, let me give you these dessert tips and tricks for your family to even enjoy what you have prepared. As it is said, there is no better way to express how much you care about someone than to cook for them. And when you cook, the taste should always be at its best. You cannot afford to disappoint your love ones with your mediocre cooking.

First, use the juice. Save leftover syrup from canned fruit by freezing in small quantities in ice cube trays, bags or small containers. Use this to flavor desserts as flavored ice for beverages. They can even used with gelatins or punch and even as ice candy.

Second, think ahead. Minimize party stress. Prepare delicious baked goods in advance. Store in the freezer or fridge until you need them. This gives you more time to party and less time to worry about baking. You can also have more time to entertain the guests and will not keep them waiting for the food.

Third, give gelatins a fruity twist. When adding fruits in gelatin, always remember that some fruits have naturally occurring enzymes that prevent the gelatin from getting firm and set. A way to break down the enzymes is by cooking your fruits. Or try canned fruit instead, which is safer bet to use for gelatins.

Lastly, add pizzazz to your presentation. Make you desserts even more appetizing: serve them in unique containers! Desserts like fiesta float or gelatin are fun to eat from wine glasses or small soup bowls. Serve fruit salads in hollowed-out fruits like pineapples, watermelons or avocados. Scoop out fruits with a melon baller, leaving just enough flesh so the container won't be too flimpsy.

Now, here are your sweet and fruity recipes. Enjoy cooking!

Many times we eat certain foods or take vitamin supplements because we're told to, not really sure what it's doing for us or feeling really different because of it, but we continue doing it anyway. But with Vitamin D, when you're deficient it's fairly obvious...or more commonly, once you start getting enough you'll realize what you were missing. With all the talk about the need for Vitamin D and the symptoms involved if your intake is too low, I'd like to go over briefly specifically what Vitamin D deficiency treatment encompasses and the three types of Vitamin D sources.

The human body uses protein for a number of functions and purposes. Without an adequate supply of protein from the diet, the body will turn to its own stores- the muscles. While you may want to reduce your overall calories to lose weight, you do not want to reduce the good nutrition that you are getting from the three macronutrients: protein, fats and carbohydrates. To lose weight but stay healthy, strong and keep up your performance levels, you have to carefully reduce your calorie count with the right proportion of everything that you need. To understand why protein is so important to exercise and metabolism, you have to understand how the body uses it in the first place.

By Juvy S. Iliwiliw

I will be adding five more M.Y. San Grahams recipes and I will give more than just recipes because I will be adding dessert tips for you. These tips will be helpful so that you will be called an expert in each of the recipes that you will try doing.

You will need:

1/3         cup M.Y. San Grahams Chocolate, crushed
1            cup buco meat, shredded and chopped

1. MIX - mix buco and sugar in saucepan. Stir and simmer for about 8 minutes or until mixture dry. Cool.
2. ROLL - form mixture into balls. Roll in crushed M.Y. San Grahams Chocolate. Serve.

Dessert Tip:

Have you noticed that brown sugar hardened easily? To prevent this, you have to put small pieces of apple, orange or lemon inside the sugar jar. The citric acid of the fruits would help the brown sugar to stay soft for a period of time.

You will need:

8         pieces M.Y. San Grahams Chocolate, chopped
2         tbsp unsalted butter
4 1/2   tbsp condensed milk
1         tbsp cocoa powder
1/2      cup marshmallows, cut up into small pieces
12       pieces Flat tops chocolate candies, chopped
           a pinch of salt

3. SCOOP 1 tablespoon of the mixture and drop onto a sheet of wax paper. Repeat the procedure for the rest of the mixture.

Dessert Tip:

Marshmallows easily hardened when they are not eaten right away. In order to maintain the texture of the marshmallows, put them in a plastic bag together with slices of fresh bread then seal the plastic bag. After two days, the marshmallows will still be as good as new!

You will need:

1           cup M.Y. San Crushed Grahams
3           pieces eggs
4           tbsp sugar
3/4        cup evaporated milk
1/2        cup water

1           cup papaya, sliced
1/2        cup pineapple, sliced

4. SERVE - transfer filled crepe onto a serving plate. Drizzle with chocolate syrup. Top with vanilla ice cream if desired.

Dessert Tip:

If you need fruits substitute in a recipe, choose those that are in season. In this way, fresher, riper, more affordable and more available your fruits substitute will be.

2. DO FILLING - In a bowl, combine condensed milk and all-purpose cream. Blend. Add in melon strips and sago. Stir.

3. DO LAYER - Pour half of the melon mixture onto the prepared crust. Top with M.Y. San Grahams Honey. Pour the rest of the melon on top and chill. Finish with whipped cream on top. Serve.

Some people assume that the only cholesterol they ever get is through their diets. So, if you do not eat any food with cholesterol, you would have zero in your body, right? This is actually incorrect because the body makes its own cholesterol, an amount equivalent to ten eggs every day. Just as the body digests and breaks down amino acids to form hormones for a number of functions, cholesterol in the body is used to make hormones.

If you have heard of the saying "An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure" this may very well apply to yeast infections. Yeast infections are very common among both men and women. The prevention of the disease is actually much easier than its treatment. What makes it difficult however is that men and women have different symptoms of the infection and often lack of knowledge about the existence of the symptoms has lead many people to ignore this ailment until it has gone out of proportion. Leaving yeast infections untreated could lead to more serious ailments like urinary tract infections for women and prostate problems for men.

What You Need To Know When Using Hot Peppers?

Green and red cubanelle peppersImage via Wikipedia
By Arnetta Hootsell

I just love spicy foods. I just love the taste of the hot peppers with my ice cream, jalapenos in my cookies and habaneros in my cheesecake. It is unusual, truly it is! I am into hot spicy tasty recipes that is why my boyfriend gave me a hot pepper recipe book as a present. One of my favorite things to make, however, is hot sauce. Many recipes are there but it is only time which I need to have to begin with one. I grow my own habaneros and jalapenos plants in my pot so I will not anymore go to the grocery store and buy one. While the jalapenos did mildly okay (pun completely intended), my habanero plants grew pretty little white flowers that never turned into peppers. I think, the grocery stores will rob my cash still.

Maqui Berries: The Amazing Anti-Aging Berry

Alaska wild "berries" from the Innok...Image via Wikipedia
By Cameron Jefferson

The acai berries may be forgotten once the maqui berries hit the scene! If the name sounds unfamiliar, then that sounds about right. This berry has managed to stay for the most part out of the public eye. But it's overcoming the myth regarding its beginning because its power is authentic. People are learning how berries like this might be boosting immune systems, helping with weight loss, plus cleansing toxins from the body. It really is amazing how this fruit works.

Native to the Patagonia region of Chile, the aristotelia chilensis is also known as the maqui berry. Safely nestled in the rainforest, this evergreen tree yields a dark purple berry. The local wildlife can find it to be a tasty snack. A legend surrounds the Mapuche Indian tribe of a fierce strength and unbelievable endurance. Their traits were attributed to the fruit. But it's not entirely incorrect to believe the berry, nick named the super-fruit, may have something to do with bringing the best out of people.

The maqui berry is full of powerful antioxidants. A specific sort of flavonoid, known as anthocyanin, is the main toxin killer. This antioxidant is found in a lower concentration in such foods as raspberries, blackberries, eggplant, concord grapes, and red cabbage. It makes this fruit almost impervious to the harsh sun and chemicals. The Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) rating is an internationally recognized scale used to measure antioxidant levels in foods. The maqui berry has one of the highest scores of all berries.

Antioxidants help clean out body systems by flushing them of built up toxins. There are several ways for toxins to enter the body, such as through the skin, inhalation, or existing in food. When the toxins are gone, bodily functions can work properly. This increases metabolism, and can in turn increase energy as well. In combination with a balanced diet and exercise, a natural toxin eliminator like the maqui berry may help to lose weight. Before a regiment is added to any diet, always seek a doctor or professional's advice.

Scientists are also studying the effect antioxidants have on illnesses. One of the most important body systems to boost is the immune system. This system not only fights off germs already in the body but can prevent new ones from invading it. Research is being done on a variety of diseases such as cancer, aging and neurological disorders, and diabetes. They are hopeful about the outcome.

The maqui berry should be freeze-dried as soon as it is picked. That is when the antioxidants it contains are the most effective. A supplement should state this on its label. There should be no side effects from eating the pure berry, it's a natural fruit.

Recently, this berry super-fruit has been reviewed on Fox News and CBS. A few European countries are starting to use the maqui berry instead of elder berries to color their wines. It is branching out beyond the small home in Chile from which it came. That's not surprising, considering the amazing things this berry does.
