Japanese Burger

You can turn this burger from Japanese to Thai by switching the toppings and condiments. You may use Thai sweet chili sauce, Thai basil leaves, cilantro sprigs, roasted peanuts and serve with lime quarters. It is so easy to make this with only 20 minutes preparation time, you can surely do something else after making 2 for this recipe. You may choose to increase the ingredients if you are to serve a large group of hungry burger eaters.

Lamb Tagine

Tagine dishes are slow-cooked at low fire, resulting in tender meats and flavorful sauces. This dish is guaranteed to be good to the very last bite. You can throw in the Bouquet garni, a classic herb mixture of parsley, thyme and bay leaf tied together, it is usually added to soups, stews and stocks for flavor. This will be one flavorful dish that you can be proud of to family and friends.

Serves 4 to 8 with overnight curing and 3 hours and 30 minutes cooking time.

Koftas can be found in some of the earliest known Arabic cookbooks. This lamb version is among the original ones. The meat can be replaced with ground meat if desired.

Serves 4 with 30 minutes plus 1 hour cooking time. Other spices featured here can be found in specialty stores that are near you.

A korma is a mild curry dish usually made with yogurt combined with coriander and cumin. This lamb recipe is an authentic Indian dish but you can cook this anytime at home. It is just like bringing an Indian cuisine right  on your very table less the hassle looking for an Indian restaurant. Tapenades are typically served as hors d’oeuvre, spread on top of sliced gourmet breads. Here, the lamb is stuffed with tapenade, making it a hearty main course.

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of lamb. Rest the lamb for 5 minutes before serving to allow meat juices to flow back in for a tender, juicier roast.

Couscous, a type of semolina pasta, is so versatile it can be served either warm or cold, plain or flavored, and even as a dessert. In this recipe, it is part of the main dish. Its light flavor and coarse texture makes it the perfect accompaniment to lamb’s strong flavor.

Lamb is available in leading supermarkets. Fillets, chops, and cutlets are great for everyday pan-frying. For stir-frying, cut meat into thin strips and cook in small batches.

You can widen your imagine and turn it into a reality by elevating an onion-and-chive-flavored cream cheese spread by adding tiny bits of chorizo and mushroom. Add half a teaspoon of onion powder if you prefer a stronger onion flavor. Then spread this on your favorite cracker or toasted bread.

TRIPLE CHOCOLATE COOKIES

Imagine this: a cookie with three kinds of chocolate – milk, white, and dark. Irresistible? You bet! Prepare a 167-gram pack chocolate chip cookie mix (we used Pillsbury One-Step Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix) according to package directions. Mix in 1/8 cup white chocolate chips and 1/8 cup dark chocolate chunks plus ¼ cup chopped almonds. Bake at 350oF for 12 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 4 large cookies.


BANANA WALNUT BREAD

Want to enjoy warm, freshly baked bread in easy, simple steps? Now you can! Just add ¼ cup oil, ½ teaspoon vanilla, 2 eggs, 1/3 cup sugar, 1/3 cup honey, 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder, 1/3 cup chopped walnuts, and 2 ripe bananas (mashed) to a 212-gram pack buttermilk biscuit mix (we used Bisquick Buttermilk Biscuit Mix) and mix well. Pour mixture into a lightly greased loan pan and bake at 350oF for 15 to 20 minutes or until done. Cool, slice, and serve. Makes 5 small loaves.


NUTTY BROWNIE BARS

Here’s a delicious and decadent brownie recipe that’s crunchy and creamy too! Prepare 230-gram pack brownie mix (we used Maya Oven Toaster Brownie Mix) according to package directions. Mix in 2/3 cup cashew nuts. Bake at 350oF for 20 minutes or until done. Cool slightly. Spread Nutella on top and sprinkle with cashew nuts. Makes 8 bars.


HAM AND CHEESE WAFFLEWICH

Want something new for breakfast? Prepare a 230-gram pack pancake mix (we used Magnolia Pancake Plus Mix) according to package directions. Pour mixture into a lightly greased waffle maker and cook until golden brown. Place a slice of ham and cheese in between two waffles and serve with your favorite spread. Voila, breakfast is served. Serves 2.
