Japanese Burger

By Juvy S. Iliwiliw

You can turn this burger from Japanese to Thai by switching the toppings and condiments. You may use Thai sweet chili sauce, Thai basil leaves, cilantro sprigs, roasted peanuts and serve with lime quarters. It is so easy to make this with only 20 minutes preparation time, you can surely do something else after making 2 for this recipe. You may choose to increase the ingredients if you are to serve a large group of hungry burger eaters.

JAPANESE BURGER

You will need:

2 burger patties (either store-bought or your favorite homemade recipe)

1 onion, sliced

2 burger buns

1 tablespoon Japanese mayonnaise

pinch of Japanese S&B chili powder (toragashi powder)

2 tablespoons unagi sauce

Here's how:

1) Cook burger patties to your liking.

2) In another hot pan, sear whole onion slices until golden brown and caramelized.

3) Assemble the burgers: Slice bun and spread bottom half with Japanese mayonnaise. Then sprinkle with toragashi powder. Set burger patty in bun and top with a few seared onion slices. Spread unagi sauce on the onions. Cover with top bun.
