Asparagus Wrapped in Bacon

This elegant and delicious side dish is  simple to make. When you're up for a splurge, make it more special by substituting bacon with prosciutto. And with an artistic presentation on the table, this will surely bring glory to your cooking expertise!


ASPARAGUS WRAPPED IN BACON

You will need:


1 to 2 bunches of asparagus (or 32 spears), cleaned and trimmed

8 bacon strips

olive oil for drizzling

sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper

Here's how:


1. Gather 4 asparagus spears and wrap one strip of bacon around the bunch making sure all spears lay flat. Repeat with the rest of the asparagus.

2. Line wrapped asparagus bunches on a baking tray. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

3. Place in a preheated 180oC oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until asparagus is tender and bacon is crispy.
