You should learn more about champagne because knowing the genuine product can help you identify the fake ones. Learn a few facts about champagne by reading this page.

Champagne got its name because it was originally made in a province in the northeast of France called Champagne. When champagne was first made, it was the royal families and the elite that first became its fans. Since it was the high class society that were the customers of champagne makers, they did their best to make sure their product was of utmost quality to keep their clients pleased.

Some people think that all bubbly wines are called champagne. This is not accurate. In fact, in the past, a bubbly wine could not be called champagne unless it had passed the standard set by the Comit Interprofessionel du Vin de Champagne, and mind you, their standards were very strict. In order to pass as champagne, the bubbly wine was evaluated not only on how it was made but also on its taste, the amount of bubbles, and so on.

The Mthode Champenoise is the traditional method of making champagne. In this method, the wine goes through a second fermentation process after bottling. This second fermentation happens after a certain amount of yeast is added to the bottle. Many champagne makers keep their recipe, ingredients and proportions for making champagne a secret. This is so that their brand maintains its uniqueness.

Each type of champagne, in order to have a distinct flavor from others, will have a different recipe and will use different types of grapes. Whatever type of champagne you choose, make sure to buy from trusted shops so that you can be assured of the quality. The most popular champagne brands include Rose Champagne, Blanc de blancs, and Blanc de noirs.
