By Juvy S. IliwiliwFilipinos really love Adobo. I think no one born in the Philippines never tasted adobo. We always take pride of our very own delicacy and serve them with all our acquaintances. Even foreigners who first tasted adobo would longed to taste it again and again.
I will let you try this purely Filipino adobo recipe and see for yourself why one can't help but dream about coming back to the Philippines because of adobo.
BALIK ADOBO, BAYAN
You will need:
1 kg (6-8 pc) drumsticks or chicken pieces
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp vinegar
1/4 cup water
2 tbsp. Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce
2 tsp coarse salt
2 tsp peppercorn, freshly ground
5-6 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 bay leaf (optional)
Heres how:
Combine all ingredients and use this to marinate the chicken pieces. In a deep microwave safe dish, arrange the chicken pieces with the meatier parts facing outward. This arrangement will ensure even cooking. Microwave for 8 minutes on high setting. Check for doneness. If needed, microwave for another 30-60 seconds.
