When they're made from scratch pancakes always taste better. The best part about making pancakes from scratch is that it's easy! It really takes no extra time to make pancakes from scratch. This will also allow you to tinker with the recipe until it is just how you like your pancakes to taste. Just follow the directions laid out below and you are sure to make some great pancakes in no time!

Ingredients you will need:

* 1 cup of flour
* 2 tablespoons of sugar
* 2 tablespoons of baking powder
* 1 teaspoon of salt
* 1 egg, beaten
* 1 cup of milk
* 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

Grab yourself a bowl large enough for all your ingredients. Put your flour, oats, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in the bowl and mix everything together. The next step is to add all of your wet ingredients to the dry mixture. Pour in your milk, vegetable oil, and egg to the bowl. Get a whisk or large fork to mix your ingredients thoroughly in the bowl until most of the clumps are gone.

Now it's time to cook some pancakes! Get a frying pan or griddle, lightly oil it, and place over medium-high heat. Scoop out about cup of batter for each pancake and pour it onto the pan. Cook each side of the pancake until they are a golden brown color. Remove your pancakes from the pan and they are ready to serve.

Tip: Check the batter for bubbles to know when the first side of your pancake is done. You don't want to burn the first side and it's hard to see it when it's down.

These pancakes provide a hearty, tasty meal that will stick with you all day. Now, sit down and enjoy your homemade pancakes with your favorite toppings. Some popular options to go with these pancakes are maple syrup, melted butter sprinkled with brown sugar, or a little jam on top.
