It was not that long ago that everyone was happy with a cup of coffee that they brewed in their own kitchen. Of course that was also when people were content to drink water from the tap, instead of purchasing bottled water. Now it seems like the day just is not right unless we've stopped at our favorite coffee shop and ordered a mug of our favorite flavored coffee. The problem is that even though the coffee tastes great, it is also really expensive and pretty soon you find yourself cutting things from your budget just so you can get your coffee fix. To save money, you could make your own coffee.

If you use a cheap instant coffee, you should not expect it to taste just like what you purchase at the coffee shop. One of the reasons that their coffee tastes so good is because they do not use the cheap stuff. The next time you go to the grocery store pick up a decent coffee. It does not have to be the best they have, it just needs to be something that has a full flavor.

Once you have finished brewing your coffee, it is time to add the flavor. There are several different ways that you can do this. The simplest method is to pick up a bottle of your favorite syrup. Most coffee shops sell large and small bottles of the flavoring.

The chances are pretty good that your favorite coffee shop sells bottles of coffee flavoring. The next time you are there you can pick up a bottle of syrup and then you will always have it on hand. The one thing you want to consider is how you are going to get the syrup into your coffee; the bottles are often difficult to manage. One solution is purchasing a press pump that can be screwed onto the syrup bottle.

Hot chocolate can sometimes be a good, and inexpensive, alternative to the pricy syrup bottles. All you have to do is purchase your favorite flavor of hot chocolate. Add as much of the mix to your coffee as you like and mix. The coffee is ready to drink as soon as all the powder has dissolved

Another alternative to expensive syrups is flavored creamers. These are usually available at your local grocery stores and are reasonably priced. They come in an ever increasing range of flavors and these creamers add a richness to your coffee that syrup just can not match. The one thing that you have to be careful of is the expiration date on the creamer, if you do not use the creamer very often you will want to make sure that it has not spoiled.

Another option is making your own syrup. This really is not very difficult. All you need is the extract of your favorite flavoring, 2 cups of sugar, and one cup of water. Mix 2 teaspoons of the extract with the sugar and water. Bring the mixture to a boil and continue to allow it to cook until the sugar has completely dissolved. Provided that you keep the syrup in the refrigerator it will keep for a month.

Natural flavor drops is the best low cost alternative to flavoring coffee. Flavoring concentrates are easy to carry and even easier to use. The best thing is, natural favor concentrates have 0 carbohydrates. Another great advantage of using these products is the variety of flavors they come in, from the basics like vanilla and hazel nut to the delightful taste of caramel or cinnamon bun.

Brewing your own flavored coffee is not only cheap, but it is also simple. The best part is that you will no longer have to put up with cranky customers, not being able to find a parking spot, and getting bumped and spilling your coffee. Brewing your own means you can relax and enjoy your coffee as you putter around the house.
