Stop Cough From Making You An Instant Social Pariah

By Rudy Bader

Coughing is not only disturbing, it is also annoying. Don't think for a second that you can get away unnoticed with your persistent cough. You will for sure send people around you into panic mode. Because no one wants to be around a sick person, you would surely drive away those around you with your persistent coughing.

People will certainly stay away from you. Even if you only have a simple cough, they won't know that for sure. Whatever you cough can spread into the air. They don't want to take their risk and breathe in the virus that comes out from your mouth.

So don't be hurt if people start turning away their faces from you. It's nothing personal. But while you can't do anything about their way of thinking, you can do something about your cough.

If you have cough that lingers on for days and those OTC medications don't work anymore, you have to visit a doctor. It may not be anything truly serious, but seeing a doctor can help you rid of that lingering ailment of yours.

A physician, one who focuses on Ear-Nose-Throat maladies, would prescribe the right medicine for you, depending if your cough is dry or wet or it is connected with the mucus from your lungs or sinus.

It never hurts to try home remedies such as honey and lemon. Those natural medicines are not only cheap and easily accessible, they are also filled with vitamins and minerals.

Whether you choose organic remedies or what the doctor prescribes, you need to work on your hygiene too. As mentioned, coughing turns off people, so don't give them more reasons to turn away from you. Cover your mouth with a clean hanky to hush up the sound and keep the germs from spreading when you cough.

People will also be grateful when you clean your hands as often as possible and apply antibacterial gels or sprays on your hands. It would show your thoughtfulness. If you have tickly throat, lozenges may work wonders.

Never forget that when people turn away from you when you cough, it doesn't mean they don't like you. Just remember that it's nothing personal.
