Recipe Management System for Busy Families

Are you tired of the same menu day in and day out? Is that 30th consecutive day of ham sandwiches driving you nuts?
I have a software based solution for this problem, and you can help me make it.
Parents, families, and cooks in general have an omnipresent yet seldom discussed problem – deciding on the daily and weekly menus for their family. This is compounded by the fact that most people enjoy variety, and as such, makes menu planning for families a time consuming and tedious process. Ask any parent out there, what is the most frustrating question on their minds? “Whats for dinner?”

There are various websites on the internet which provide an ample and ready supply of recipe information, however this does very little for the overall planning; none of the current solutions take into account weekly shopping, on hand supplies, and personal tastes. This turns this relatively simple task into a weekly nightmare.
This patent pending software which is to be developed is to be used to assist with the creation of daily, weekly, and monthly menus – as well as the necessary shopping lists. The software will be flexible enough that serving sizes can be adjusted which will automatically adjust the recipes ingredient ratios accordingly. Additionally, searching based on specific ingredients will be provided and will take into account allergies and dislikes (making choosing a menu for those picky eaters a breeze).
In addition to maintaining a set store of built in recipes, the system will be flexible enough that additional recipes can be added/edited at any time. The coup d’ etat of the system will be an integration with an online service for recipe sharing as well as social networking for cooking and tips.
This project will be divided into 5 phases to cumulate in a complete website and interactive presence online.
The following is the breakdown for the entire software development costs and cycle.

Phase 0 - $2.5k USD (Initial Alpha and POC stage - Dec 2010) <= YOU ARE HERE
****************************************************
Phase 1 - $5k USD (Initial Public Release - May 2011)
Phase 2- $10k USD (Functionality improvement - Aug 2011)
Phase 3 - $10k USD (Web site launch - Dec 2011)
Phase 4 - $5k USD (Nutrition guide and spoilage alerts May 2012)
Phase 5 - $5k USD (Social networking site launch May 2012)

All sponsor spots are on a first come first served basis (e.g. first to reach the level gets the top spot on the list). Additionally entry into Phase 1 Beta is contingent onNDA acceptance.

I am using Indigogo to help raise funds for the development. You can donate at the following link:
