My good friend acquired her passion for cooking Oriental dishes from her late grandmother who was of Chinese origin. Now, having married a man who's absolutely crazy about Italian cuisine prompted her to come up with this recipe, incorporating two cuisines in one simple dish.
For this recipe, to make a richer-tasting dish, work in 3 tablespoons of butter with the cooked spaghetti. Brilliant!
CHICKEN PASTA PINSEC
You will need:
For the pasta:
3/4 cup olive oil
3-5 garlic cloves, crushed
salt and pepper to taste
1/8 teaspoon oregano powder
400 grams spaghetti, cooked according to package directions
1 bunch parsley leaves, chopped
Parmesan cheese (optional)
For the pinsec prito:
1/2 kilogram ground chicken
1/2 cup quick-melt cheese, grated
1/4 cup chopped spring onions
pepper to taste
1 pack siomai wrapper
Here's how:
1. Saute' garlic in olive oil. Season with salt, pepper, and oregano powder. Mix in cooked spaghetti and parsley. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired. Set aside.
2. In a bowl, mix chicken, cheese and onion leaves. Season with pepper.
3. Spoon mixture into siomai wrapper diagonally and deep-fry pinsec prito until golden brown.
4. Plate the pinsec prito with the pasta and serve.
