Salad spinner is vital for salad making. If you've had a salad that is watery and the dressing just won't stick, the salad spinner was not used. Drying salad greens is the difference between a good salad and one that is not. But it can also be used for draining pasta, or for dredging anything in the flour, like when making fried chicken. The steamer also allows you to cook veggies and proteins in one shot allowing you to save gas. Department stores usually carry only small to medium steamers. To find larger ones, heat to specialty stores anywhere. This is one great help in the kitchen that does well every time.

Hey there apple crisp lovers, this can be another apple crisp recipe which is rapid and quick to produce and bake. Best apples for this recipe are Granny Smith, but you may get away with some other apples that are appropriate for cooking. Another ingredient which can be adjusted to your taste is water. If you'd like your apple crisp to be a bit more moist you can add 1/2 cup of water instead of 1/4 and vice versa - if you prefer your apple crisp to be drier (we like it dry), you could eliminate the water entirely. And for the final twist for this recipe - you could add some ground pecan nuts or nutmeg into the mix.

Make this dessert even more attractive and indulgent by topping it with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. You can prepare the caramel sauce a week ahead and store it in the refrigerator. It will keep for two weeks. If cooking with hot sugar makes you nervous, use store-bought caramel topping but I suggest you do your caramelizing so you will appreciate the yields of your effort.
