Do you know the difference between an appetizer and a snack? Not much. Basically, we serve them at parties and snacks are anything we can put our hands on. Why make this distinction? If we ate them for snacks, we could be eating better and having more fun while we do it. Shouldn't we make the effort to eat better?

Why do we always settle for anything we can find as a snack... even when it does not taste very good? With just a little bit of effort, you could be enjoying a snack that looks good, tastes good and it might even be good for you. This is a strong argument for why you should eat appetizers as snacks.

Think about how appetizing it would be to eat mini bites of goodness while you watch a movie or read a book. Snacks like this can utilize vegetables, fruit, and other nutritious ingredients. It really does not take very long to put them together, and you get to enjoy eating a snack instead of just mechanically shoveling something into your mouth.

When you use Them for snack time, you can easily take control of your weight and still feel satisfied with what you ate. You can make every calorie count while your snacks still taste wonderful. There are so many appetizer recipes, you could have a new one every day. Maybe one day you will enjoy tomatoes and mozzarella cheese while the next you can eat some sliced fruit dipped in yogurt.

Just imagine enjoying a plate of shrimp appetizers in the afternoon as a pick-me-up snack. It gives you protein instead of sugar. You can imagine how good each bite tastes. Why save your favorite recipes for those few times per year when you have a party? By using appetizers for snacks, you can enjoy these dishes more frequently. Enjoy all your favorite ones any time by putting them on your snack menu.

Switching to appetizers for snack time is easy. Keep your favorite recipes nearby and make sure you have the ingredients stocked in your kitchen. When you get the munchies, make up a plate. If you make up a larger batch, you can refrigerate the rest for later. Using them for snacks lets you stick to your diet and still enjoy all the food you eat.

Some easy appetizers ideas for snacks would be finger sandwiches, olives, sliced fruit, cut up veggies or shrimp. If you put more thought into your habits for snacking, you will find it much easier to lose weight and enjoy what you are eating. There will be no need to feel guilty for indulging in something bad for you.

The next time you find yourself grabbing a bag of cookies or chips, think about what appetizers would taste great. You will be able to make the most of your food. You will have fun eating it because we all enjoy finger foods. They fill that desire to nibble. Why not replace the junk food with something better from your recipe collection?
